New Clue In Castro Valley Jane Doe Case

CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. -- The
Alameda County Sheriff's Department announced a new lead in the case of
a still-unidentified woman found dead three years ago in the back of a
Carrow's restaurant.They said they have a credible lead that the
woman may be from Guadalajara, Mexico. Investigators told NBC11 News
there is a missing woman from Guadalajara who matches her description.
They did not have a picture of the missing woman, but they are asking
for the public's help in the case.Investigators also told NBC11 they have new DNA test results that lead them to believe Jane Doe was from Mexico.
The
sheriff's department also announced today that the reward in the case
has been increased to $65,000. They said an anonymos business owner
recently donated $10,000.The Alameda County Sheriff's Department
held a memorial service Thursday in honor of Jane Doe. They've held
similar memorials for the past three years.Monday marked three years since her body was discovered.
